This year I spent Christmas with my adopted family. The house was beautifully decorated, with multiple trees, gingerbread houses, and adorable handmade gifts from the children. It was a wonderland filled with laughter and imagination. The highlight of the holiday was when the little girl in the family received a very special surprise present. The joy and excitement on her face were truly priceless and I was reminded of the many ways we can bring joy to our loved ones and the importance of thoughtful gift-giving.

What a delightful episode! And, oh, how I envy that little girl. A pony for Christmas? My childhood dream that I had to wait until I was 60 to fulfill and then it wasn’t a pony but a 16.2 hand Thoroughbred who was my delight and love. And Pam really does know you well, Akasha. How many of us wanted a pony for Christmas. I burst into tears when that little girl suddenly realized the pony was for her. And what an incredibly thoughtful gift of 12 books individually wrapped. Yes, much better than a fruit of the month club gift. I may have to steal that idea (thanks Pam!). I have the most fun every year shopping for or making gifts for friends. For me, it’s much more about the giving than the receiving. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story.
