8. Loving God

After years of searching for God in art, churches, the ocean and even a spiritual commune, I found Him the most surprising and perfect way. I also learned that my God has a great sense of humor and is not afraid to use it to my advantage. I hope you enjoy this episode about my relationship with God.

It only took me all the way to episode 8 to sit and listen to your wonderful podcast. Of course, the topic is very personal to me and I smiled with delight to hear your warm and mellifluous voice narrate the story of your search for God.

    Hi Akasha,
Thought I would share a prayer I wrote a couple days ago. Here it is:

    Merciful, compassionate, God
Hear the suffering of my brothers an sisters
All those in pain, in terror, confusion and desperation
do not let us suffer alone
Bring your comfort, solace and peace
    Shelter all in your arms
    Protecting us from harm

Ignite us by the fire of your love
    Remembering we are one
    Called to be co-creators
    Laboring towards justice and life

Open our hearts to your call
to feel, reach, help and heal
as we breathe in your joyful
    blessing of grace
    Amen

Akasha, this one is really beautiful and touching. It caught me at a particularly vulnerable moment and spoke directly to me. Thank you for sharing your own vulnerability and your thoughts and feelings about God. I have been wrestling with my own feelings about God and where he/she is in the loss of my brother. Love you and thanks for sharing.

I listened to this beautiful offering in the middle of last night when I couldn’t sleep and I felt like I was having a spiritual experience myself as I heard your soothing voice paired with your descriptions of your own spiritual seeking and journey. Thank you so much for your willingness to share your life and writing with the world. Today’s posting is something I will definitely listen to again. And maybe even a third or fourth time.
