I have a long-standing tradition of visiting the farmer’s market, where I support hardworking farmers and enjoy the quality of their just-picked fruits and vegetables. There’s Eddie and his exceptional fruit selection and then there’s the market’s corn booth, where the sweet corn reminds me of Alabama’s produce. But I especially love “bossy produce” that captivates me with its flavors and insistence on being noticed.

I love finding a loophole and thinking that I can cheat the system just a little bit. Over the years, I’ve become quite good at identifying ways to do less and still achieve the same result.
