    Interesting that you write largely because it is enjoyable.

    Most of the writers whose memoirs I’ve read talk about the
    hard work and difficulty of writing. Certainly hundreds of thousands of words in a novel cannot come automatically. Most writers also base their writing on extensive notes collected over many years. Additionally, most writers are deeply concerned about historical accuracy, facts about people, places and things, so research is usually measured in great expanses of time.
