88. Awakening

Lately, I have been awakening in the middle of the night. Whether it’s the cat vomiting, uneasy feelings, power outages, or my own thoughts, I find myself accepting the awakening and observing where it takes me. This episode is about what happens when I’m hoping for sleep to come in those early hours and how I make the best of it when it doesn’t.

Now That You Ask is a podcast that looks at topics that range from death to desire, and from wondrous to downright whacky. Join host, Akasha Halsey as she takes listeners on a journey through her writing and experience with life’s most persistent questions.

Thank you for listening!

I’m smiling, Akasha. I wish I could join you in an affogato, but alas (now there’s a word you don’t get to use very often!), I can’t drink coffee in any of its many manifestations. Makes me so sad because I really do love coffee. And I love the way you find so many ways to lift yourself up, even in the middle of the night. Think of me the next time you awaken at 3:30 in the morning. I’m just getting myself ready to go to bed. I think the last sunrise I saw was when I pulled an all-nighter trying to get an argument ready for Gene to give in court that morning. Those were the days…

    Hi Akasha,
When tired of using “discombobulated” you can substitute “flummoxed”.

    Very enjoyable and wise!
